my story
I’ve come a loooong way from the MySpace themes I used to design in middle school.
Entrepreneurship is in my blood.
I kept a notebook as a kid with all my genius and *original* (almost all of these things already existed) ideas, and my dad was an entrepreneur, so it seemed inevitable that I would have a business – I just wasn’t sure what that business would be.
When it was time to choose a major in college, I originally picked Nursing because I enjoyed science and everyone said it was a "good career choice". But I eventually realized that was not what I wanted to do, so I ended up sitting down in the career center at my school to take some tests and figure out what on earth I was meant to do.
Everything pointed to Design, Marketing, and Computer Science – so I enrolled in the Digital Media department (that I definitely didn’t even know existed before!).
After graduating, I landed a corporate job in advertising and design in Nashville. I also landed myself a husband – my high school sweetheart, Adam! – and we started building the newest chapter of our life together.
Newly married life was sweet, but my job was boring, unfulfilling, and soul-crushing.
"Am I cut out to work? Do I even like design?! Maybe I’m not supposed to like my job…"
After being told that it’s normal to hate your job (we won’t even dive into how messed up that is!), I decided I wasn’t after a “normal” life and I turned in my two weeks’ notice.
I felt like I was too young to do this on my own, but I was determined to find the right job for me. I applied for job after job, only to hear *crickets.* While job hunting, I turned to a combination of teaching yoga, babysitting, and freelance graphic design work.
I realize now I was never meant to have a “normal” job. It was always my path to be scrappy, make it work, and trust God in it all.
Slowly but surely, my freelance graphic design work ramped up until I realized I had a legitimate business on my hands.
It didn’t feel “official” until I launched my first business website in March of 2016, but once that was live, I never looked back.
Graphic design turned into website design, and when my calendar was booked out for months – I realized I needed to find a way to serve more clients. The Elizabeth McCravy Template Shop opened its doors in 2019, giving small business owners of all kinds access to gorgeous, strategic website templates to elevate their brand without the price tag of custom work.
And now I’m here – designing website templates, teaching other business owners through my courses, hosting my podcast, and helping the most amazing business owners build a brand and life they love.

THE FUN FACTS
Probably should have majored in criminology.
I’m an avid mystery novel solver (seriously – I have a color-coded highlighting system to help me solve the case!) and have seen every episode of Law and Order: SVU.
In a talent show, I would be cheerleading.
I cheered for eight years in middle and high school! I mostly avoid back handsprings now, and stick to signing my emails with “cheering you on.” (It’s safer at this age!)
Anyone who knows me knows I love Jesus.
My faith is super important to me, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without God’s grace and guidance. You'll hear me talk about my faith throughout all of my business content.
My happy hour order is chardonnay. Cheers!
Yes, I order wine like an old woman… it’s delicious.
One thing I’m most proud of is my family.
I'm a boy mom to a baby and a toddler, and married to my high school sweetheart. I love our life together in Franklin, Tennessee!

Life is too short to have a boring website
Back in the day, finding quality Showit templates that weren't tailored exclusively for the wedding industry was like finding a quiet moment with toddlers around. I read this in college, and it permanently altered the way I thought about work in the best possible way. This book will help you rethink productivity, retirement, and your life's work.
Some of the things I applied from this book are what allows me to now work just part-time and be at home with my kids!
If you want a less owner-dependent business, even if you never plan to sell, this book is a fabulous illustration in how to build a business that doesn't need YOU 24/7!
Although not a business book, this is a great read on hearing from God and putting God in the "CEO Seat" of your life and business.
This is a book I reference time and time again!
